Fifty-five years separate these two coins: an 1828 Capped Bust half dollar and an 1883-CC Morgan dollar. The Carson City dollar is the one most people reach for first – the CC mark, the Nevada silver behind it, and the fact that a great many 1883-CC dollars sat untouched in government storage until they were sold off to collectors in the 1970s.
Both have sold. Bust silver and Carson City dollars are two things we will always buy outright from the public.
