Real gold, vacuum-sealed
Each Goldback contains a precise weight of .9999 fine 24-karat gold bonded between layers of durable polymer using a patented vacuum deposition process. The gold cannot be separated from the note without destroying it.
Fungible denominations
Denominations range from ¼ (1/4000 oz) up to 100 (1/10 oz). Every Goldback is fully fungible across all state series — a 1 Florida Goldback contains the same gold weight as a 1 Idaho or 1 Utah Goldback.
Voluntary local currency
Goldbacks are accepted by thousands of independent businesses across participating states. Use them to pay where both parties agree, or hold them as a tangible store of value.
Built-in security
Every note carries multiple anti-counterfeiting measures: unique serial numbers, intricate allegorical artwork, microprinting, a raised reversed image, and (on 2025+ series) UV-reactive ink.
