Blue seals and blue serial numbers mark the small-size silver certificates in a lot like this one. These notes carried an actual promise: the bearer could present one at a Treasury office and receive silver. That ended in 1968, though the notes stayed in ordinary circulation for years afterward until collectors pulled most of them out.
The lot is in the shop now, as shown. Currency lots reward close reading, so come look at the series dates and signatures for yourself in St. Augustine.
