Barber quarters, random year, circulated, 90% silver. Charles E. Barber was Chief Engraver of the Mint when his quarter went into production in 1892, and it ran through 1916 before the Standing Liberty design replaced it. Each quarter holds 0.1808 troy ounces of silver.
Circulated Barbers are honest coins – worn flat in places, with the date and a good deal of character still there – and they are one of the cheaper ways into a pre-1917 United States type set. Dates come as they come; see what is in the tray in St. Augustine.
