Amber is not a mineral at all. It is tree resin that hardened and then spent tens of millions of years underground, which is why it feels warm rather than cold to the touch, floats in salt water, and occasionally holds an insect that got stuck in the sap. Baltic amber has been traded across Europe since the Bronze Age along routes named after it. This necklace sets it in .925 silver.
The piece sold. If you have amber or other set silver you no longer wear, we buy it outright at the St. Augustine shop.
