Blue seal five dollar silver certificate. Silver certificates were backed by metal held at the Treasury and said so on their face; the blue seal and blue serial numbers separate them at a glance from the green Federal Reserve Notes that replaced them. The five dollar denomination ended with Series 1953.
It has sold. Silver certificates of any denomination can be sold to us outright.
