Series dates on American paper money do not work the way coin dates do. The series year changes when a design or a signature changes, not every calendar year, so a note marked 1953 may well have been printed after 1953. These two, one from the series of 1953 and one from 1963, sit on either side of a decade of change in United States currency.
Both notes are sold. Older $5 notes are a standing want here, bought outright from whoever brings them in.
