Each roll offers a unique opportunity to explore and appreciate the intricacies of coinage. Please review the photos for detailed condition and characteristics of these intriguing coin rolls.
Two rolls of 1958 Franklin half dollars, kept in protective holders. The Franklin ran from 1948 to 1963 in the 90 percent silver alloy, John R. Sinnock’s bust of Franklin on the obverse and the Liberty Bell on the reverse, with each coin holding a little over a third of a troy ounce of silver. Rolls were a common way to put silver aside before 1965, and plenty of them were never broken open afterward.
These rolls have sold. Franklin rolls turn up when families clear out a holding, and we buy them outright from the public here in St. Augustine.
