Not sure this is the right piece? Tell us your budget and we'll work out what to buy
Half dollars of 1902 came out of a period when the denomination still did real work in commerce, and coins of the type generally show it in the wear. This is a Barber half, the design Charles E. Barber cut for the Mint in the early 1890s: Liberty in a laurel-wreathed cap on the obverse, a heraldic eagle on the reverse, struck in the 90 percent silver alloy.
It is in the shop in St. Augustine now. Come in and look at the date and the rims for yourself.
