George T. Morgan came to the Philadelphia Mint from the Royal Mint in England, and the Liberty head he cut for the 1878 dollar was modeled on Anna Willess Williams, a Philadelphia schoolteacher rather than a classical bust. This 1886 example falls in the middle of the series’ original run, which lasted from 1878 to 1904 before the design was set aside.
Sold. Morgan dollars are bought outright from the public here, whether that is one coin or a shoebox of them.
