Two coins at opposite ends of the size scale, sold as one lot. The 1849 large cent belongs to the Braided Hair type, the last of the big American coppers before the small cent arrived in 1857. The Mexican dos peso is the other extreme: a tiny .900 fine gold coin of about 1.67 grams, small enough to be mistaken for a token, and long a favorite for jewelry mountings.
Both have sold. Gold in any form, including small fractional pieces like this, is purchased outright from the public here.
