Half dollars were the workhorse of American commerce in 1810, since silver dollar production had been suspended for years and nothing larger was being struck. Halves of this date come from John Reich’s Capped Bust design, made on a lettered edge reading FIFTY CENTS OR HALF A DOLLAR around the rim, in the early American standard of .8924 fine silver rather than the 90% that came later.
It has sold. Bust coinage is always worth bringing in; we buy early American silver outright from the public.
